Climate change, new travel habits, a shortage of skilled workers, and ecological challenges are changing how we vacation in the mountains – and not just in winter. At the same time, digital technologies, smart data solutions, and sustainable innovations offer new opportunities for making tourism in sensitive regions sustainable.
Now it’s your turn:
We are looking for creative, feasible ideas for two special places in the mountains that are open to change – the Nordkette in Innsbruck (Austria) and the holiday region of the Bavarian Forest National Park (Germany).
What do you need to ensure that a visit there continues to be exciting in the future – sustainable, digital, year-round, and attractive to different target groups?
Whether it’s new off-season offerings, digital platforms, visitor management tools, or ideas for climate-friendly mobility: We’re looking for ideas that will make your visit to these regions a great experience, so you’ll want to come back and bring your friends!
The following questions are of particular interest to the regions:
Innsbruck Nordketten Cable Cars:
- From the heart of Innsbruck directly to the summit: How can this special experience be made even more attractive year-round for you and/or international guests? What new formats, services, or digital experiences should be offered?
- Changes in the weather? Crowds? We’ve all experienced this. How do you envision responding to weather-related or seasonal fluctuations in visitor numbers with digital tools and indoor offerings, so that your visit to the Nordkette is stress-free and weather-independent? How would you like to receive information, and what indoor offerings would you like to see?
- How can interactive technologies and data help create more personalized experiences that delight and engage guests? What are your ideas for truly wow moments at the Nordkette cable cars?
Bavarian Forest National Park holiday region:
- The Bavarian Forest has much more to offer than a classic winter vacation. How can this holiday paradise become even more attractive year-round for you and/or different target groups (e.g., families, seniors, international guests)? What new formats, services, or digital experiences should be offered?
- Guest needs vary and change. What’s the optimal digital solution for you, as a guest, to easily communicate your needs to the region?
- The region sees itself as a sustainable destination – in harmony with the national park. But how can this be made visible, tangible, and credible to guests – especially internationally? How could smart data, AI, or digital platforms help strengthen the region’s profile and make it more resilient to crises?
Help shape the tourism of tomorrow – for all seasons, for all generations.
